One Wall Street

As a hospitality project, The One Wall Street includes hotels, residences, and amenities. The complex requires lighting to meet the needs of different functional zones whether from aesthetic or energy efficiency aspects. Lighting calculation and conceptual renderings are the main output of the concept design phase, which is my primary focus on this project.
My Role
In this project, I was mainly responsible for the early conceptual design and lighting renderings. The comparison of renderings helps the team find a better lighting solution. At the same time involved in the RCP drawings of some areas.
Entrance Front View
To maintain the simplicity of the ceiling the lighting source is organized into three parts, the LED light wall behinds the glass simulates the effect of indoor light illuminates the entrance through the transparent glass wall; the small spotlight inserted into the entrance canopy and uplight above the canopy; the uplight for the side door.
Entrance Side View
The side view makes it easier to see how light sources come together to illuminate the entrance. Uplight for the side door is a simple solution which not only brings the efficient light needed but also reflects the architectural details. The small grooves in the wall and the metallic material on the door were all vividly highlighted by the uplight.
Bright Material
Lighting solutions for different materials have also been considered when selecting architectural materials. Light-colored material is easier to bounce light than dark-colored material.
Dark Material
The reflection of the dark material is weaker. To increase the range of light, the selected fixtures are to be customized by adding downlight and diming to different levels to match the requirements.
Recessed Linear Light
Renderings will be a more intuitive expression of the different light solutions. Recessed Linear Light solution will allow lighter directly to the countertop of the kitchen.
Slot Light
Compared with the Recessed Linear solution, the indirect slot light is softer. The light gradually lit up the area from the top of the cabinet and bounce to the countertop.
